Book Reviews of Something Blue

Book Review: Absolutely Loved It!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved this book! I think Darcy just makes you really think about yourself... at least it did with me, loL! I think everything that happened to her was for one reason only, and that was to make her turn her life around to be a better person. After reading this book, I really like Darcy... despite the fact that I hated her on Something Borrowed.

Book Review: Absolutely WoNdErFuL!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've decided that this is my favorite book of all time....okay, that is after I read it's prequel, "Something Borrowed"....

Both books are fantastic. Easy to read, easy to relate to. Not too descriptive, where some books outshine the characters and go on and on about the colors and smells... it's hilarious, but you could totally see yourself being one of the characters, if not a few of them. Personally, I related well with Rachel and had total disdain for Darcy. After I got to chapter 21 in "Something Blue", I knew I found my new best friend, Darcy to be very uplifting and real.

Giffin's natural writing style made it so easy to flip page after page and I found myself calling my girlfriends begging them to buy all 3 books so they could relate as well. I am very impressed, and now find myself impatiently awaiting the arrival of her fourth book this coming year.

Book Review: Absolutely loved this Book !!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I recently read this book after reading "Something Borrowed." While I liked "Something Borrowed" and was surprised to realize the sequel was from the perspective of the "bad guy" I decided to continue reading. I ended up absolutely loving this book, actually preferring it to "Something Borrowed". This is a total comfort feel good book and left me wanting more. I highly reccommend this book for anytime but definitely if someone's a little blue, this book is just what the Dr. ordered.

I rarely if ever write reviews and felt compelled to do so in this instance.

Book Review: Addicting!
Summary: 5 Stars

I absolutely LOVED "Something Borrowed" and couldn't wait for to dig in to Giffin's second book. I was a little hesitant at first, because I didn't want to be disappointed like I am with most sequels, but it was so INCREDIBLY good that I finished it in two days!
Definitely read "Something Borrowed" first, if you haven't already yet. While you don't have to read "Something Borrowed" in order to follow this story, you'll love "Something Blue" so much that you'll want to read the first one. (I think if you do it in reverse order you won't understand the true attitudes of the characters.)

Book Review: All I can say is .....WOW
Summary: 5 Stars

I read this book with low expectations. I had read Baby Proof by Emily Griffin and found it to be somewhat average. I read this only because the reviews were so high. (and I haven't read Something Borrowed Yet).

It is a wonderful, touching story about an initially, selfish, superficial woman who worries too much abou having the best, being the best, the most loved, most wanted etc.

She has an affair with her fiancee's friend really to prove that he wants her more than her friend or anyone else. She ends of pregnant. Her wedding is called off and she finds her best friend (RACHEL) is part of the reason for it being called off.

Bitterness overcomes her she finds herself alone, shamed etc. Not knowing what to do, she goes to London to be with an childhood friend, Ethan, to get away from it all. In part to make people worry, in part to make her Rachel jealous of her being with their mutual childhood friend, Ethan.

As time goes on Darcy, you can see Darcy changing. Analyzing what's important, what matters and what really doesn't matter. It's a story about true love and how a single person can change everything and how you look at the world. It's a story about friendship, letting go of the past, and forgiveness. Darcy changes a lot up until her delivery and of course, changes even after that.

A really believable, well written tale that warms your heart. I listened to the audio version (unabridged) and it was fabulous. The narrator does an exquisite job of capturing Darcy and you can really hear the subtle changes in her and the book progresses....Delightful.

I can't wait to read Something Borrowed, which unfortunetatly, does not come in audio....but can't wait to find out the back story.....I would definetly recommend this book. A lovely story.
