Book Reviews of Something BlueBook Review: As Silly As the First - For different reasons Summary: 3 Stars
In "Something Borrowed" we meet the evil Darcy and how she was betrayed by her fiance and her best friend, mostly because she deserved to be. This was payback for her shallowness in general and the years of abuse she gave her so-called best friend.
Now we see Darcy alone and pregnant and no more improved in her personality in the last book. She wheedles and manipulates others into getting what she wants because she thinks she deserves it. It's what you have come to expect from the character.
I found the path the book took to be as unrealistic as the happy ending of "Something Borrowed". All it took was for Darcy to be told off just once. All she needed was for some down-to-earth, straight-talking hero to explain everything she's going wrong and BOOM she's cured of all of her shallowness and now she's truly worth of true love.
I didn't buy it. The transformation is too quick and too obvious. If Darcy were really the kind of person Griffin wants us to think she is, she would have been outraged and slunk away looking for someone new to mooch off of. She would have married the doctor because she knew she could wrap him around her little finger.
Like "Something Borrowed" it was a quick, fun read, but it's far from believable.
Book Review: Awesome Summary: 5 Stars
I love this book! I didn't read Something Borrowed, but I absolutely love this one. The characters are flawed and real- and despite the unrealistic plot, they make it way worth it to read!
Book Review: Awesome book! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the second book in the series and it was just as awesome as the first. I read this book in less than a week. It was hard to put down.
Book Review: Bad Condition Summary: 1 Stars
The person who sold me this book advertised it as "very good condition", however when I received the book, it was very badly damaged. Pages looked water logged, the cover was a mess, and the binding was ripped. I would not of bought the book if I had known it was in this condition.
Book Review: Better than "Borrowed" Summary: 5 Stars
I loved "something borrowed" but thought that Rachel's "I'm a good girl who's conflicted" got old. By the end of "borrowed", I wasn't going to be as quick to judge cheaters, but I didn't think Rachel was fully in the right with the way she handled everything. Something Blue is Darcy's (infinitely more interesting) story. While some reviewers thought her transformation was so sudden-it was a long time coming and interventions can cause change. Something Blue is really a great followup, companion, whatever.
