Like Beeperless Remote, Something's Wrong With Your Scale is hilarious - laugh out loud funny throughout. But that's where the similarities end. This book is so unlike Van's first book. He has really grown-up. There is a level on sensitivity and insight that I didn't expect from a Van Whitfield book. And although this is told from a male point of view, the female character in the book easily has the strongest and most lasting voice - besides the bird, of course! I am happy to have read this book and appreciate and thoroughly respect the way Van presented a book about overweight people that is incredibly funny, but does not make fun of them. Everyone needs to read this book. You will laugh, cry and actually get hungry because of the many descriptions of food and the scenes involving eating.Two Spoons Up!
This one's a winner.
