Book Review: 'No' Means 'No'
Summary: 5 Stars

Not only was I able to read 'Speak' in one day, but I found it to be very liberating. I am a victim of rape...was a victim of rape...when I was 18...some 15 years ago. The silence will surely kill you on the inside in a way that the physical act could never do. Rape takes away a very important part of you..in my case and 'Melinda's', it robbed us of our virginity. The saddest part is that for a 13 year-old girl, the concept of the first kiss is still at arms length, let alone a physical relationship. I commend the author for sharing this story in a format that can bring inspiration and education to teens as well as adults.

The story was manly about a gril name Melinda what happen was that melinda was bestfriends with a gril name Heather but during the summer they had went to a party an Melinda got raped by a boy named Andy Evans and that's who Heather as going out wih so Heather was mad at Melinda because Melinda called he cops cause she was raped but Heather and other kids got mad because they thought she was a snitch because sh e called the cops she didnt snitch because of the party she snitched because she was raped and she was scared so every one was mad at Melinda when they went back to school, Melinda didn't know why though. Also Melinda ied to tell Rachel that her boyfriend had done but Ranchel didn't want to believe her so she left and called Melinda a lair.

I am 14 years old I am in the 8th grade The kids that would be interrested in this bok would be kids my age and maybe a little younger because the book is really good it shows alot about how people and friends can change on you just to be cool.yes,I like thid you not to drink at parties and to show not to be mean to people and not to be older boys. The most important thing I didnt like about the story is that Melinda's best friend Ranchel didnt want to believe been raped because if i was Melida i would have beat Rachel butt fo not bleving me if we where suppose to be bestfriends.

I would recommend this book to all teenagers. The name of the book is "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson.I liked this book, because it talks about the emotions and reactions of situations that would actually happen. This book talks about a likfe of a student that has just satrted Merryweather high-school. For Melinda Sordino school is a nightmare for her since the end of summer, when shocking events led her to call the police who busted a major party. Now she has no friends and gets alot of dirty looks for her ex-friends. THe only friend she has is a girl named Heather, the new girl, who only cares about hanging out with the right people and impressing others. She doesn't even care about Melinda at points, she talks about fitting in with different social groups. So if you wan't to read an interesting award winning book you should read Speak.

Book Review: ****Great Book****
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved this book!! I am only 12 years old right now, 11 when I read it, and I still loved it. It isnt a fancy book with long words, just real teen thoughts. It is written in a way a true teenager would write it. It is fun to read Melindas thoughts, and in some parts you will cry, and some you will laugh; it's a GREAT book. I highly recommend it!!

Book Review: *EVERY TEENAGE GIRL SHOULD READ THIS BOOK!*
Summary: 5 Stars

I thought Speak was a GREAT book. I read it for summer reading and so did a few of my friends. We all LOVED it. I think anyone in 8th grade and up doesn't relate in someway to this book is probably like the people torturing Melinda, or a parent who has no idea what middle/high school is like nowadays. I suggest you talk to your kids. Then maybe you'll get a clue!

Anyways, i loved this book and think all girls should read it, boys too, although not until they're a little older.
