Book Review: A Good Book For Teen Readers and Adults
Summary: 5 Stars

All Teens should read this book. Peer pressure does a lot of bad things, one of those things is convincing victims to feel like they have done something wrong.

Speak is a fast-paced read that involves the reader emotionally from the very start. Speak is an accurate portrayal of the very common existence of high school cruelty and peer pressure. Every reader should identify with most of what happens in this novel, no matter what their age.

You will get mad at the good characters as well as the bad. I found myself talking out loud to the characters, which is why I know the book involves you.

Speak passes my Young Adult novel test. The book allows you to read without wanting to put it down, and it flows straight to ending. Laurie Halse Anderson has written a book that will be around for a very long time.

Book Review: A Good Read For young adults and adults
Summary: 4 Stars

Laurie Halse Anderson cleverly recreates the high school atmosphere, the hierarchy of popularity from the viewpoint of a loner. As this adolescent girl faces the perils of high school alone, she realizes that she must speak up. I enjoyed this book because it vividly depicts what struggling teens face on a daily basis. At times, I was a little annoyed with the book, but it fits into the annoyance of adolescence. I recommend this book to educators of adolescence as well as teenage girls.

Book Review: A Great Book
Summary: 5 Stars

I enjoyed reading Speak. The story shows a teenager's feelings and problems very well. Melinda Sordino is having a very hard time in school. She doesn't have good friends to sit with at lunch time. Before, she had a lot of friends, but the event that happened in the party in the summer changed her life. From that time, even her best friends ignored Melinda. "It is easier not to say anything." was what Melinda thought.

In school, the art class was her only oasis. The students had to choose one subject to draw for the whole year. It was chosen randomly, and Melinda's subject was a tree. When she was confused in school life, she didn't know how to continue drawing the tree. When she had a very hard time in the school, her tree was also dying.

When you read this book, you can feel Melinda's feelings and understand her problems. Many teenagers have the same problems that Melinda had. I think Speak is a great book; I recommend this book to all high school students.
