Book Review: A Great Book For All Young Adults
Summary: 5 Stars

Speak was a book that I read together with my health class. I didn't think it would be that great of a book because we were reading it in class but I was wrong. I begins with the viewpoint of a highschool outcast named Melinda. She used to have many friends but now they are all mad at her but they don't know the real reason Melinda did what she did. The past summer one of her friends Rachel got them into a high school party. Melinda called the cops on that party. That is the reason none of her friends will talk to her now. At the sametime Melinda is trying to find friends her family life is changing for the worse at times.
It seems her mom is always working and her family never spends any quality time together. As you progress through the book "IT" starts to show up a lot. "IT" is a person and a secret that Melinda is keeping. "IT" from the party she was at. Melinda is fighting to keep her grades up to keep her parents happy, perfect her tree in art, and to forget that horrible night at the party that summer. Yes it was her that called the cops but why would she do it when she herself had also been drinking? What was the real reason she called the cops and why didn't she tell her friends? Read "Speak" and you will find out and also get a few laughs at the sametime.

Book Review: A Great Book Review by Lindsey Roberts
Summary: 5 Stars

Here's a great book by Laurie Halse Anderson named Speak. Melinda crashed a party last year. Her goal is to fit in with her classmates that she has became enemies with. She becomes friends with Heather but soon after Melinda finds out Heather is just using her to fit in with the "Martha's". Rachel, Melinda's ex best friend who hates her because Melinda ruined her reputation, is dating Andy Evans. Andy Evans is the reason why Melinda crashed the party last year. Everyone thinks Melinda dialed 911 just to get attention, but that is not the reason at all. She has a special cool off closet at her high school, that is really a janitors closet, that she hangs pictures in like her drawing of trees she is working on in art class. If you're in for a realistic fiction book this is a book for you. I loved it because people can relate to it no matter what. I recommend this book for ages 13-19. Weaknesses are that there are a lot of girls to keep up with so if you get confused easily it may not be the book for you. It also has some bad language. Other than that it is a fantastic teen book that I know many teens will love. This book has won many awards, some including the 2000 Pritz Honor Book Award, 1999 National Book Award Finalist, and an Edgar Allan Poe Award Finalist. Everyone will love this book because of the wonderful character choice and how everyone can relate to Melinda.

Book Review: A Great Book! A Must Read!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is way to good to pass up! I have read 10 + times, and every time I see something new, different, that I hadn't seen before. Laurie Anderson's best woork yet! Speak is not just about how much one event can change your life - It also speaks about the character of people in high schools these days. The cruelty, gossip, and hate that can spread so easily. The first time I read it, I read it in one night! That's how much I loved it! You feel a bit of pity of Melinda, but by the end Melinda is like a friend of yours, and your cheering her on in the end! I recommend this book greatly! Happy reading!

Book Review: A Great Read!
Summary: 5 Stars

The first thing I noticed in this book is the different writing style the author has to a lot of the books I've read. I love the way it is set up. The story of Melinda is told in a way that makes you feel as though you know her and you understand how she feels. You can feel and see her shutting down throughout the freshman year and want so much to be there to comfort her. I finished this book in two days. I couldn't put it down. I've already recommended it all my friends and they say they can't wait to read it. This is a great summer book for any teenager!

Book Review: A Great Read.
Summary: 5 Stars

i first read this book a few years ago, and have read it every so often in the years following. I think this book is an extremely interesting and good read. I found the way that it was written simply amazing; To be able to tell a story without actual dialogue being used.
I also felt i could relate a lot to what the main character was thinking in this book...it had witty humor and true statements about what it's like in high school, especially if you have no friends.
I recomment this book to anyone who needs a good read, that will make you laugh, and also feel compassionate towards the main character who goes through a year of high school without friends.
