Book Review: A Great Start.....
Summary: 5 Stars
This is the first in Sheldon Siegel's series of legal thrillers. We have all seen, and heard of, unconventional marriages...Mike and Rosie have a most unconventional divorce. Very few "mystery", or "thriller" books will stand the test of re-reading, but these will. Reading Sheldon's books is like visiting old friends...I often wonder how the various characters are doing, forgetting that they're supposed to be fictional.
In this superb first effort, we get to meet most of the folks that we'll look forward to seeing again. Mort "The Sport" Goldberg is a real piece of work...I do wish that Sheldon would give him more to do later on. I worry about Grace, would sure want Pete or Roosevelt on my side in a pinch, and wish we all had a Mom like Sylvia. Clergymen like Rabbi Friedman give "Faith" a good name, and Nick defines "character" [in more ways than one].
Without giving away the plot, I can tell you that, in this volume, you will get to meet as evil a character as you can ever hope to find on the printed page. I like this genre of book when I'm not reading heavier stuff [see some of my other reviews] Sheldon is the very best of the type. Read and enjoy!!!
