Book Review: A good Sci-Fi series to try

Marla Mason only reluctantly agreed to let her black sheep brother try to con a local billionaire. It's supposed to be her job to protect Felport from magical threats, but to try and keep Jason out of her hair, and yet not drive him off, she suggests he use the non-existent Borrichius spore as bait. The problem arises when their discussion is overheard and misunderstood. Soon the sorceress Nicolette and the mycronancer Bulliard are involved, though Bulliard has been possessed by the mushroom god Mycelium who is now headed for Felport.
During all this, Marla is also training her new apprentice Bradley Bowman. He is much like a younger brother to her, and she helps him with his powers and introduces him to the other magical professionals around town. The interplay between the many characters is well written, the scenario interesting and fun. This is the fourth book in the series, and if you haven't looked at them yet, you may find it a worthwhile series to pick up.
