For anyone who has a love of horses - soul, nature, spirit, history - this book talks to all those senses on the deepest level. This is a lovely, sensitive piece of art that I will always think about through this author's eye. I am one of those beings that came in to this life loving the equine species. Horses have been essential to my life for close to 35 years and as a fellow equine photographer, I can truly appreciate the essence of the horses portrayed and photographic skill of Tony Stromberg. Make sure that you have a quiet space and uninterupted personal time to go into the world of horses that Tony so loves, as this is not a book to just flip through. Each image allows you to feel the essence of these very "real" horses...equines at their best in the realm where they live. Truth, Beauty, Strength, Passion, Tenderness .... these are just a few of the words that describe these Spirit Horses. A book could be written about the story of each photograph, and the best quality of Tony's work is that he leaves you to interpret each image in your own way. There is no falsehood nor force to the creation of the images. Share this book with everyone you know, and buy it for even the "non-horse" people in your life...they too will appreciate the feeling of these horses.
As I look through the reviews that are starting to be presented here, I notice many familiar names that are also equine photographers, many of whom are accomplished professionals. To receive so many accolades from those who truly know how challenging it can be to aquire images of these amazing horses is something that Tony Stromberg has earned.
