Book Reviews of Stone Fox

Book Review: A five star not too long read
Summary: 5 Stars

Stone Fox is a great book for all elementary students. It is about a ten year old boy (named little Willy) and his dog Searchlight. His grandpa is keeping a secret from him which is the cause of grandpa being sick. When little Willy finds out what the secret is he learns that he must get 500$ and fast. What luck, there just so happens to be a dog sled race going on and the prize money is 500$! When he enters he knows he must win and if he doesn't grandpa won't get better and their farm will be taken away from them. Little Willy feels very confident in himself, but the great Stone Fox is coming. He has never lost a race. Does he beat the great Stone Fox? Does grandpa get better? Do they keep their farm? Use my advice and read the book to find out.

Book Review: A good book
Summary: 4 Stars

Stone Fox is a good book.A 10-year old boy has a sick grandfather. And that's not the only problem. The boy (named little Willy)has to pay 500 dollars or their farm will be taken away from them! The only way to get 500 dollars is to win the National Dog Sled Race.Little Willy has a dog.Her name is Searchlight. She is a black dog with a white spot on her forhead the size of a silver dollar.Little Willy and Searchlight try to beat other racers and Stone Fox, the legendary Indian. Stone Fox has never lost a race, but could this be his first loss? Can Little Willy beat him? I like this book because it's exciting to me. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five stars is because there is something in Chapter 10 that makes me give it four stars. The only way you can find out what it is, is to read Stone Fox.

Book Review: A great book

Book Review: A great read
Summary: 5 Stars

...The best book I ever read in school is called The Stone Fox. It's about a boy name Wiley. He's about 12 years old. He has a grandpa name Grandpa. He's really fun and happy all the time. Until one day Wiley went to check on him , and he was lying in bed looking at the ceiling. Wiley got the doctor, and she said there was nothing she could do. She said he was just sad. He was sad because he needed $300 to pay off the farm. Wiley was walking down the street, and he saw a sign that said "A Sled Race", the winner gets $300 in cash. Wiley decided he could train. When he was running back home , he ran into a tall Indian name Stone Fox. He always won the sled race. When Wiley got back home, he started to practice. One night he was walking around when he heard barking, so he went in a pretty good size barn, and saw sled dogs. He started to pet them. Then he heard someone coming. He turned around, and saw Stone Fox who slapped him across his face. Wiley ran home. The next day was the sled race. Wiley and his dog searchlight rode off to the race. Wiley got ready "POW"! The gun shot. I'm not going to tell the rest, so you will have to read to find out.

Book Review: A great read-aloud story
Summary: 5 Stars

I read this story (read is the operative word) to 4th graders. At the end of the reading one boy softly spoke under his breath, "that was a great movie." He had seen the whole story in his imagination.
