Book Review: Most effective diet/fitness book I've ever read!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been 'trying to lose weight/get fit' for 35 years. I've been through it all, tried everything, hated my body, hated food, finally gave up, and believed I'd never be under 200 lbs. again. Then I read Susan Powter's book, which explained things I'd never had explained to me before. I've been following her guidelines for 6 weeks, and today I weigh less than I have in 6 years. Ideal weight, here I come! And I'm eating pizza and french fries, midnight snacks, etc., and not 'depriving myself'! As a writer Ms. Powter is, at times, almost unreadable, but the information in this book has, pardon the cliches, changed my life. I feel great - this book has my highest recommendation! 2002 update: I reached my ideal weight for the first time in my life, and stayed that way, thanks to this book - don't believe the folks who say low-fat dieting is bunk, it really works!

Book Review: Stop the Insanity by Susan Powter
Summary: 5 Stars

This book arrived promptly and was in excellent condition. I read the book and determined to apply the knowledge which Susan had discovered while on her quest to lose weight. I committed myself to begin following the program on January 1st 2010. Thus far, I have lost 3.6 pounds in 10 days. I am very happy with Susan's safe, sure, weight loss advice.

Book Review: Susan Powter is NOT a dietician and doesn't know what she's
Summary: 1 Stars

talking about (Susan Powter, meet Rosemary Green, author of the misguided "Diary of a Fat Housewife."

The only thing Ms. Powter can write convincingly about - with power and authority - are her debacles when she was fat.

A lot of her book radiates with hostility towards her ex. Her first exhusband - I believe by now she's gotten another ex - the one she raves about near the end of the book. At that point she has just gotten remarried and shares living space with her formerly hated first ex-husband - is she a control freak or what? ).

The other good thing about Susan Powter's books/infomercials is that you can always just close the book, or turn the channel to silence her. The continuing relentness attitude of "I know everything and listen to me" wears thin very fast. She really needs to consider taking a meditation class to channel some of that erratic energy.

Ms. Powter may be a good salesperson or marketing genius, but she doesn't give you credible information.

Book Review: Susan, thank you!
Summary: 5 Stars

For people like me, who have been dieting their whole lives and still could not lose weight, Susan's book has not only been an inspiration, but has also provided valuable information on how our bodies work and what needs to be done in order to lose FAT (not muscle or fluids). I have also realised the dangerous game behind the diet industies that sell fake hopes to overweight people who want to lose weight- and lose their health in the process. Susan's suggestions make so much sense (cut down on fat not calories)! Plus, the book is so much fun to read! Thanks Susan, that's all I can say!

Book Review: The Best Motivation
Summary: 5 Stars

This book helped me in a very unmotivated situation, and it helped me very well. Susan Powter writes so trustworth and she tells her thoughts out of her heart. And she found the best way for her and for a lot of people to reduce weight.
