Book Review: A beautiful, timeless story with horrible cover art

Unfortunately, like so many "newer" editions of Marguerite Henry's fine books, the cover art on this edition of "Stormy, Misty's Foal" is horrendous. Not only is the quality of the art terrible with deformed conformation, neither horse even remotely resembles how Misty or Stormy actually looked! Who are they supposed to be? The colors and markings of the horses are totally off. It's a shame the publishers allowed this poorly researched atrocity in place of illustrator Wesley Dennis' gorgeous original cover art. The story itself, with Dennis' original interior illustrations is terrific in every way, but because of the bad cover art, I give this particular edition two stars.
