Book Review: My Life as an Enforcer for Whitey Bulger
Summary: 5 Stars
The author, Edward McKenzie tells a story of how society, let him like so many others down, robbed him off a family life growing up and forced him to survive in southie on the streets. This is an amazing story of courage, balls, honesty and above all how easily people fall into this world. This book gives fantastic detail of life in this era and what life in this line of business was really like. The book is adictive and I found it hard to put down when I picked it up. McKenzie's story is only to familar, of a kid robbed of basic things like happiness and a loving family, shows how tough this kid was and how he changed his ways. His love for his little girls is compelling and the honesty throughout this book means you just keep reading and turning the pages. So many books in the past are like a chore to read, this is not one of them.
