Book Review: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups-Loved It!
Summary: 4 Stars

Like others, I was concerned that the premise of this book might be a little tough to buy into but if you keep in mind that it is, after all, FICTION, it is a great read! I really connected with the main character, Jane. She is funny and easy to relate to. I also enjoyed Michael though wish his character had more answers to the predicament they were in. It seems that what ever question Jane threw at him his answer was "I honestly don't know, Jane." And as much as I enjoyed this book, I found this constant reply really annoying.
To sum it all up: it's a beautiful love story, perhaps a little predictable (especially if you read a lot). I think that if Mr. Patterson had been able to come up with a better explanation of the evolution of Michael, the book would have been less predictable though.

Book Review: A Fairytale About a Poor Little Rich Girl
Summary: 3 Stars

The foundation of the story sounds very promising.

Jane, poor little rich girl has an imaginary friend as a young girl; her imaginary friend leaves her as she turns the ripe old age of nine - but she never forgot him. As a grown up, Jane is now a poor big rich girl cowering under her mother's shadow and acting as a doormat for her jerk of a boyfriend until she meets her long lost imaginary friend.
Is she crazy?
Is he an angel?
You'll have to find out for yourself.

This isn't a great work of fiction, the adjectives are numerous and sprinkled around generously - but it's a fun, cheesy and quick read, albeit corny and predictable with a "Star Trek" type ending (everything gets wrapped up in the last few pages).

But sometime you just need one of those.

Book Review: A Fresh Concept
Summary: 4 Stars

I have to say that this book was delightful despite the fact that it doesn't quite get to the realm of suspending disbelief. (Well, maybe for a few moments I did allow that to happen).

These days I find it very refreshing to have writers attempt something less scorching, less frightening and yet compelling. In the age in which a book can't seem to get in enough guts and gore to please, this offers a coffee sundae with the old fashioned fudge topping that used to get sticky after it chilled. I'm old enough to have tasted it both in my life and now in this lovely book.

I read my share of mystery and drama and this was a wonderful relief from that particular brand of suspense.

If you love Nantucket, you will love the local references.

This IS a book that one will want to read at one sitting, even if life interferes.

My only disappointment was that they felt compelled to end the way that they did on the last page. I wonder how other readers will respond to it. (And I will get over it; the book is still lovely). Thanks for writing it; it was brave to do that in this world that demands such different reality.

Book Review: A Little Creepy
Summary: 2 Stars

Let me start by saying, I love James Patterson books. Now let me add BUT...I found this a little disturbing because Micheal was a grown man when she was 8-Imaginary or not it still seemed wrong. Had Micheal been 8 in the begining and aged as she did I could have enjoyed the story much more and maybe not been so creeped out.

Book Review: A Sweet Adult Fairytale
Summary: 4 Stars

I thought this book a delightful adult fairytale. Make no mistake, while it is pure escape, it, nevertheless, is a feel good story. If you want reality, pick up the newspaper or turn on the TV news, because this little gem is not for you. If you want a quick, yet simple afternoon read, give it a try. It doesn't hurt to set aside reality for a few lazy hours and in the meantime, it just might even make you smile and lift your spirits. Nothing wrong with that.
