Book Review: A Foundational Book for Survival

There are two survival books I value immensely, this one and John and Geri McPherson's Ultimate Guide to Wilderness Living. Survive! goes into everything, including rarely discussed techniques on analyzing weather conditions and patterns in the wild in order to better care for yourself and those in your charge. Also included are very excellent survival kit lists that I haven't found anywhere else. I have personally used them constructing my own kits. The material is very thorough and well rounded.
If you are concerned about your own survival, and we all should be, and you watch the Survivorman show, and we all should, and you would like a way to study and understand Les Stroud's methods away from the TV show, look no further.
We can all find ourselves in unwelcome situations so it's best to trade in the "It can never happen" mindset for a "Prepare like it will happen" mindset. If you have a family or are responsible for others make sure you can care for them if the situation arises.
This book will teach you to do all of those things.
