Book Reviews of SybilBook Review: True or not, still a great read Summary: 5 Stars
If ever there was a true account of a parent royally screwing their child up for life this is it. The ways Sybil's obviously undiagnosed schizophrenic mother punished her or flat out amused herself using her poor young daughter as the object of "amusement" are shocking and unthinkable; the father fares no better. You can't imagine that someone actually grew up with parents like this.
Book Review: Unforgettable & Heartbreaking! Summary: 5 Stars
One of the best books I've ever read. This is an amazing story of survival. How can one find the inner strength to survive such shocking abuse? I read this first many years ago after seeing the movie starring Sally Field. I was a teenager at the time, and to this day I still remember the feelings I had as I read this. I was angry with her mother, and wanted to protect Sybil. Anyone curious about multiple personality disorder ...this is a must read! Anyone who has survived child abuse must read this. This is terrifying as well as inspirational!
Book Review: Waited and Waited Summary: 2 Stars
My daughter needed the book for a psych class. The public library had several holds on the book. It took weeks to get the book, and amazingly the library came through with the book faster.
I realize you have to wait longer with standard shipping, but I never had to wait so long for something that wasn't on back order.
