Book Reviews of TailsBook Review: 7 month old loves this book! Summary: 5 Stars
My mom got this for my daughter (7 months) at Christmas. She really enjoys "touching and feeling" all of the tails, and anticipates every page. She also loves to touch the wagging tails. Some of the non-furry tactile areas (like "bumpy" tails and so on) are not as fun for her because she can't see them or feel them as easily, but I think the book will grow with her and eventually she'll be hunting them all out. This book isn't really a "classic" and the cover illustration didn't strike me when I had seen it before in bookstores, so never bought it for her myself-- but it just goes to show you: Never judge a book by its cover!
Book Review: A Fun Read, Even for the "Big" Kids... Summary: 5 Stars
This book has it all, a topic that entralls children, engaging text, lively drawings, moveable parts and textures that range from bumpy to spiney. The drawings are a story unto themselves, and are likely to appeal to adults as well as children. While this book is marketed for pre-schoolers, a dramatic reading can have third graders rolling off their chairs laughing.
The warning in a previous review about the pungent odor of the scratch 'n sniff sticker is accurate. Scratch 'n sniff at your own risk. It stinks!
Book Review: A fabulous sensory experience for your toddler! Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter *loves* this book! It has lots of different textures and visuals, as well wagging tails and pop-ups. And, of course, the different animals are a huge hit with this age group. I highly recommend this for your curious and exploring toddler!
Book Review: A favorite with kids! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this book for my 3 mo. old nephew and it instantly became his new favorite. He loved the feel of the different tails, especially the tiger.
This book is really cute, interactive, and has wonderful illustrations and "feels" that will bring enjoyment to kids. My nephew and I definitely recommend this book!!
Book Review: A visual and tactile treat! Summary: 5 Stars
This book is full of discoveries for my 14 month old son. He loves the peacock tail in particular with its rich blue color and crinkly paper texture. It is fun to turn each page and discover a new texture/color/ interesting tail and fun to pull the tabs that make the tails wag and make sleepy animals wake up grumpy. I like books that are interactive in some way or the other and this definitely gives us that with all the touching and opening flaps and pulling tabs. I purchased this book because of the rave reviews other people gave it and I am definitely pleased with my purchase. The illustrations are bright and engaging. My son spends a lot of time looking and touching when he "reads" this book.
