Book Reviews of TailsBook Review: A winner! Summary: 5 Stars
One of our son's absolute favorites! Van Fleet uses a diverse set of animals (weasel, skunk, alligator, pangolin, peacock), and the pull tabs are extremely sturdy.
Book Review: Amusing Book Summary: 5 Stars
Lots of things to touch and move! My son especially loves the peacock. Be cautious if you purchase this book for a younger toddler. My son managed to rip out one set of wagging tails without much effort, so I only allow him to read this book with me.
Book Review: Another great infant/toddler book to explore! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a touch and feel classic with a twist that older kids, toddlers, will continue to enjoy. Along with textures to explore, the illustrations and story also depict the tails different uses and appearances. Some of the pages become animated with pull tabs that make tails swat or pull tabs used to introduce surprise into the storyline like showing alligator eggs hatching when the tab is pulled up. There is a scratch-n-sniff skunk. I can't wait to see our daughter's reaction to that when she is old enough. She is eights months now and has loved this book since she was five months old. The last pages of the book introduce a counting game. Kids will love going back through the pages to find all five of those, ten of that, and the one stinky skunk along with the other animals.
Book Review: Beautiful Summary: 5 Stars
I don't know who enjoys this book more, me or my daughter. I never get bored flipping through the pages and finding the surprises. I never knew there was such a thing as a Panglion. Just goes to show when we read to our kids we have lots to learn as well.
Book Review: Beautiful picture books for Children but has to be used carefully Summary: 4 Stars
We bought the book because we purchased earlier the "Heads" book in a book store. The design is very nice and our little son loves to see the moving images or to touch the special fields.
The only not well made thing is the durability of the book. Little children want to grab moving things and not always moving parts like tails are covered so that a child can see it moving without grabbing it...
Overall still a great book and I would like to see more books from Matthew Van Fleet (see also "Heads" and "Alphabet")
