Book Review: All drum books should be this good!!!!!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars
I am a professional drummer as well as being a drum set professor at 3 different Universities, and I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love this book.
I have already added it to the list of books my students must eventually work through. It is well written, wonderfully researched and thoughtfully presented.
Stanton Moore does a wonderful job of giving the reader just enough history behind the music so that the reader can begin to see the "family tree" of where a lot of today's popular music and drumming styles orginated. He also gives the reader just enough challenging exercises to keep he or she busy for awhile. The most important thing about this book is that Moore makes it very clear that all the information in his book is presented with the hope that the student will learn it and then run with it to develop their own creativity and ideas!!
Wonderful book! Again, I can't say enough about it!
