Book Review: Well-Written, Laugh Out Loud, Tender Lessons in Fatherhood
Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this book. Steve Doocy cleverly combines his own life story as a kid with similar stories with his own kids as a Dad. The result is a well-written, funny, tender look at fatherhood from the guy's point of view. As a writer for new moms, I particularly like Doocy's honesty and explanations as to why fathers do and see things a bit differently from moms.
The book is entertaining from start to finish. Doocy has a terrific, easy to understand, conversational voice that makes the book easy to read and enjoy. What's more, Doocy is very funny! The content, though, is what is to be particularly savored. Doocy shares lessons for Dads in the stories he tells, the mistakes he's made, the changes in his parenting styles over the years, and the sensitivity in which he shares his beliefs. His honesty in revealing the important lessons he's learned is a gift to every Dad (and Mom for that matter.) I hope he writes another book, he's got a gift!
