Book Review: A Bizarro Debut That Shows Great Promise

Ray Fracalossy makes a solid debut in the Bizarro underground with his novel/collection, Tales From the Vinegar Wasteland. If you're a fan of Bizarro in general, and absurdities in particular, Wasteland will absolutely make your day.
From a who's lost his face to a bookstore where the customers write the books, it's one whacked-out moment after another. Those who have read Bradley Sands' It Came From Below the Belt will feel right at home here. The surrealism goes on and on; Ray even includes a series of short vignettes after the story itself of various other Bizarro goodies.
As a devoted fan of Bizarro myself, I'd say he's definitely worth checking out, both now and in the future. Vinegar Wasteland shows tremendous potential for Ray as an author. If you want to get a taste for his work before you buy, look him up on MySpace and ask to see a copy of his e-book, Garbage Head. It's a very tasty slice of Bizarro, and you'll be passing it around to your friends in no time.
