Book Reviews of Tao of Jeet Kune DoBook Review: Move over Summary: 5 StarsMiyamoto Musashi, Sun Tzu. Together, they are the Fathers of Martial Philosophy with The Book of Five Rings and The Art of War. Well, move over, gentlemen- the dynamic duo is now a trinity. Bruce Lee has contributed with The Tao of Jeet Kun Do, firmly establishing himself in the history of Marial Arts as a Master who will be remembered and studied for centuries to come.
Book Review: Inspiring book to all scholars of martial arts Summary: 5 StarsOne word sum up this book. Brilliant. An insightful book by a martial artist who is also a good philosopher. This brilliance of this book come from the fact that it is not, like most other books of the martial arts, aimed at demostrating techniques. It is unique in the sense in that most of the book is given to the theory of fighting. What this book teaches is not he particulars of a fight but the way to become a good fighter. The in depth analysis of martial arts in thsi book reveal much more then most other contemporary books on the subject. Most contemporary books has its emphasis on techniques and history of the art but this book places the emphasis on the theory underlying the arts, the simple objective goal of fighting. Hitting and not get hit. I think the main difference between this and other books on the subject is the level of analysis that is aimed at. It is much more philosophical then other books on the subject. I will demonstrate what I mean by the analogy. If we comapre the subject of "fighting" and that of "time". Then, most books on martial arts are that of "how to make the most accurate measurement of time" and this one is on "the nature of time". Overall, a much more philosophical apporach to martail arts then ever thought possible. Written by a person with true knowledge of the art.
Book Review: Quite possibly one of the best Martial Arts books ever made. Summary: 5 StarsBruce Lee indeed was a master of the martial arts and this wonderful display of his thoughts, philosophies and variation/techniques on this subject matter engages the reader and gives guiding thoughts on how he fought and how one can utilize different aspects of martial arts to fit one's self. A must-read for martial arts and especially Bruce Lee fans. I myself am a great fan of Bruce Lee and am very, no, extremely pleased with this work. It's different from those books that try to teach you. The thing wrong with those books is one can't ask them questions, and to learn the martial arts one needs an instructor. Tao of Jeet Kune Do is an extraordinary alternative to the latter and a wonderful pleasure to read.
Book Review: An incredible collection of philosophies and guidance..... Summary: 5 StarsTao of Jeet Kune Do is, in my opinion, the best martial arts book that has ever been written. This book is to be used as a guide on how to become a great martial artist. The first section of the book is a collection of various thoughts and philosophies the master wrote down which pertain to martial arts as a way of life. Then the book goes on into the qualities of Jeet Kune Do and guidelines on how to become a good fighter which includes excercise, quick seeing, plan of attack, and much, much more. If you read this book cover to cover it gives you the most information on how to fight than any other martial arts book I have ever read. It is a true masterpiece by a great master and I suggest this book for martial arts and Bruce Lee fans all over.
Book Review: Best martial arts book for anyone studying ANY style Summary: 5 StarsThis is a comprehensive account of Bruce Lee's style and methodology. It contains a wonderful account of his own thoughts and strategies on fighting. A must.
