Book Review: Definately the greatest martial arts bible ever written
Summary: 5 Stars

Simply, this book is incredible. Bruce Lee is able to articulate his knowledge and wisdom like no one I have ever read, and I have read alot of books like this.

I am a martial artist who has studied classical martial arts for a long long time. As soon as I read this book I went out and found a JKD instructor. This book combines what was already known in some styles with what was known in other styles and combines it into, quite frankly, the perfect system. Everything that is practiced in this art can be used, none of it is in anyway just for looks, which is the weakness of many styles including, but not limited to, Choy Li Fut kung fu, Dragon kung fu, monkey style kung fu, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Ji Quan (although this is a different type of martial art and not nessecarily designed for combat), many karate styles including Shotokan and especially Shorinryu. The ideas of fluidity are prevenelant in many martial arts but very very few actually practice this. In Jeet Kune Do fluidity is everything, movement is everything. After I began taking Jeet Kune Do and read all of Bruce Lee's books I found myself immediately becomming a better martial artist and my other instructors thought so as well. If you are a martial artist this book is an absolute MUST HAVE. If you arent its meaning is decreased but it is still incredibly helpful and insightful.

This book is definately the best martial arts book you can buy.

Book Review: Disappointed
Summary: 1 Stars

Was expecting a lot more instead of basically Bruce's notes presented in an all most comic book form. If you took out all the over spacing this book would be perhaps 30 pages? Plus side is you see Bruce's thoughts and insight on paper.

Book Review: ESSENTIAL!
Summary: 4 Stars

If you are a Bruce Lee fan, interested in Martial Arts, A Jeet Kune Do student or be that a student of any Martial Art then this book is essential to you. This represents the inner workings and theories of Bruce Lee as he was developing Jeet Kune Do. Sure you can not learn an art form from a book but a book can inspire a prospective student, help guide a beginner and add to the knowledge of someone more experienced. If you are a serious student then read this book. It covers all areas of Bruce's personal training including warm-up techniques and fitness training. The journey then continues onto notes about combat strategies (tools, preparations, mobility and attacks). As I have previously said buy this book! If you like Martial Arts, Bruce Lee or just serious training then buy this Book!

Book Review: Enlightenment
Summary: 5 Stars

I have to say this is one of the most insightful books i have ever read. another review before mine says "the book says to throw it out after you read it"; this does not literally mean to throw out the book, it is merely a metaphor. What the book actually says is to "when you fully understand this book discard it" meaning don't rely on the book to determine your actions and personal development, rather learn form it book and develop your own style, not copy Bruce's action and style word for word. This book is not determined to be an instructional "how to fight" type of book, but rather a book of educational, psycological, and physical understanding.
I highly recommend this book for beginning martial artists, and the veterans of the arts.

Book Review: Enlightenment From The Tao
Summary: 5 Stars

The Tao OF Jeet Kune Do is a compilation of Bruce's views and notes which were written during those unfortunate 6 months when he was confined to the bed owing to a serious back injury. This compilation has been put together by Bruce's widow Linda Lee Cadwell after her husband's untimely demise. Bruce did not want this book to be a used as a guide. He wanted this to provide an insight into his opinions about the world of martial arts, oriental philosophy (Tai'chi etc) and the principles which would make a perfect martial artist. It is a must for every serious martial arts practitioner. It goes well with Bruce's assertions on no mindedness and having no form as the ultimate form.
