Book Review: The best book for Bruce Lee fans!!! Summary: 5 StarsWhen i started to read this book it was unusual. Then i started to read more into the book and now i just think it is the best. It is the perfect book for people that do martial arts. It gives a lot of insight into Bruce Lee's theories and basic fighting. My final words for this book is just Wow!!!!
Book Review: A guiding force Summary: 5 StarsI can`t believe that someone bought five Brue Lee books and expected to turn into Bruce in 7 months. Martial arts take years of dedicated mental and physical displined practice, those who do not realise this will never be better than mediocre. Like it says in the foreward to this book, it is one mans thoughts, take what is useful and develop it for your own personal style. Surely a system catered for the individual will be more effective than one with only 1 correct way of doing each technique. I think most people will be able to glean a grat deal from this book, and the more you read it the more you will learn (I know its obvious). This is the foremost modern martial arts text without a shadow of a doubt, it the the inner workings of one of the greatest of all time. It is not a learn kung fu in ten easy steps book. But then there is no shortcut to martial mastery.
Book Review: a bible of jeet kune do Summary: 5 StarsI had the opportunity to see Bruce Lee in action at an East Coast karate tournament in 1969. He wasn't competing but was there as a celebrity guest. I stood with others at the back of the tournament hall and listened in awe as he talked about having just finished filming Marlow and his plans to leave soon for Hong Kong to begin filming a movie. Later, I watched him warm-up a great tournament fighter named Luis Delgado. Lee's speed was absolutely incredible. His backfist was nearly imperceptible and his footwork for closing the gap was a blur. What a loss to the martial arts world that he left us so soon. But we still have this book of his notes. It a wonderful bible, if you will, that will make any martial artist look at his own training to see how some of Lee's ideas can fit. There will always be the Jackie Chans and Jet Lis who will come along and dazzle us with their screen antics. But Bruce Lee was a seeker of knowledge, a true master of the fighting arts and philosophy. Some of it is in this wonderful book. As an author of 13 books on the martial arts, I highly recommend this book for every MA library.
Book Review: This book woke me up from a 10 year long deep sleep!!! Summary: 5 StarsAnyone wishing to learn the art of real life fighting, I can not recommend this book more! The book will not turn you into a great fighter, but it will give you the attitude to become one! Check it out yourself!!! READ THIS BOOK AND FIND YOURSELF!
