Book Review: Not clear or visual enough for a beginner

Unfortunately, the book leaves out key photos and explanations. Close-ups of parts of each stitch would have made things much clearer.
For example, I was able to make a slip stitch, a chain stitch, and a foundation chain (I think), but at that point, the book instructs the reader to turn the piece. It doesn't explain or show a picture of what it means to turn the piece. Work from the back of the chain? Turn how you're holding it in your hand? This book didn't help me understand.
Save yourself the money. There's plenty of better information--with clearer pictures--available for free on the Web.
