Book Review: GREAT NEW SUPERNATURAL ROMANCE SERIES

Rule agrees to co-operate with her investigation, but he has a hidden motive;Lily is his Chosen, and only death can part them......This is one of the best supernatural romances I've read for ages, and I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel. J D Robb and Christine Feehan had better look to their laurels, for here is a new vioce telling a complex story about a detailed alternative reality , with plenty of magic and also a host of excellently drawn secondary characters. This first episode not only explores the reactions of Rule and Lily to their bond, it also paints a picture of a battle between two ancient supernatural powers that will undoubtedly continue into the next book.The story is set in the future when magic has not only been accepted, it is in the process of being legislated about, and if I had a niggle I couldn't work out the 'when' this story is set in. Eileen Wilks writes with confidence and style, and I was interested to see that she is another graduate of the Silhouette school, like Fiona Brand and other writers who are coming up to challenge some of the more established but sometimes jaded writers like Feehan, whose last novel I thought was, sadly, appalling. I thought this was a great beginning to a series which I hope will continue the high standard set here.
