Book Reviews of Ten Little LadybugsBook Review: Great for teaching counting Summary: 5 StarsThis is a boardbook that has holes in it where the 10 ladybugs come out- kids will have great fun playing with this. Terrific book for teaching counting and about various creatures around a pond. The illustrations are beautifully done and colourful.
Book Review: Counting in the Garden Summary: 5 StarsWe bought this book for our little over a year ago mainly to enjoy the ladybirds, and also to help her learn to count. She really enjoys the book especially identifying the different insects in the garden scenarios on each page. The pages are really colourful and each focuses on a different insect or animal; butterfly, frog, bee etc.
Probably a bit soon for her to use the book to learn to count at 1 or 2, but the ladybirds are fun to point to. You can also put small photographs in the pages and find them, which adds another game to the book.
The only note of caution is that the ladybirds are small objects, therefore best not to leave tiny toddlers alone woth the book.
