Book Review: Why, oh why has noone every told me about this book?!

Here is the email I sent to the author .. I think it conveys everything!
I am a teacher with 7 years experience in various educational environments (mainly 11-18 year olds in mainstream schools). I have taught a number of children who have Autism or Aspergers, with what I thought was a degree of success and understanding, I am now unsure! Each school has had a SENCO or SEN department - each has issued the teachers with Independant Education Plans and many handouts on various learning difficulties. All are insignificant in comparison to the knowledge I gained in the 110 pages of you book!
It is an outstanding accomplishment and I am struggling to understand why no 'expert' has recommended it to me. No doubt you have recieved many comments of this kind and I agree 100% with the reviews on the back.
In a couple of days I am starting out on a new career path, working in a Further Education College with students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and therefore have been studying all Summer in order to ensure I am a good advocate, communicater and teacher. I have a lot to get my head around and that is why I was so thrilled to read a book, written by someone who wasn't in love with their own skills, suggested practical options and alternatives, cared, encouraged and recognised that teaching is a journey and team effort - not a perfect system! Thank you!
I have already recommended the book to my next door neighbour, who is a manager in a residential care home for adults with PMLD (I actually worked there a few days over the Summer). The wise and succinct advise in the chapters of your book, enabled me to offer suggestions about why a resident had melt downs or acted in a certain way over the fence. As we discussed this she was thrilled to have this insight - she herself has been fed so much training, but none that put the symptons first. She will now be buying a couple of copies for the home and will highlight one where a specific sentence/ paragraph explains/ provides options for the residents. Unfortunately at her home a number of the staff have a 'fix it' attitude - "He needs to learn that behaviour is unacceptable", when instead they need to learn their attitude and ignorance is unacceptable! Since taking over the home, my neighbour has work to change attitudes, the set up and understanding. This book will now be a real aid to her.
I guess by now you have grasped that any teacher/ support assistant/ educator/ carer I meet will have this book recommended. I almost want to buy copies to keep in my bag to hand out ... mine will never be lent!
