Book Reviews of Tesla Coil

Book Review: Excellent Tesla Coil resource.
Summary: 4 Stars

With all of the designs for tesla coils circulating the internet I was curious why I should pay $10 for this book. I was pleasantly surprised. The detail and simplicity of the book make it a great beginners guide. I am using the authors general design but altering it in some ways to give it my own flair. Mine is nearly complete!!
With this book you really don't need to know anything about a Tesla Coil to build one (just have some basic Algebra skills).
I highly recommend it.

Book Review: Maybe a thing to do.
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a small paper on how to make a Tesla Coil, and recommendations on how to make one for yourself. The information is very practical, and the author is very enjoyable to read. It also wets the appetite for the other publications listed. I sent for a couple of those. Good information, well described and an enjoyable read.

Book Review: Not bad, not good
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this book in hopes of getting better performance out of the coil I had constructed. This gave me a decent insight on component building, namely capacitors. For the price, I will say it is not too bad, but like other reviewers have said, this is for the beginner. There are many website out there that have a wealth of knowledge as well as design notes. The best yet has calculations with built in calculator, all you do is plug in the numbers. deepfriedneon.com.
The only thing I found really interesting in this book was the authors bi-polar tesla coil. Again, this is not for someone who has already built a few coils.

Book Review: Pamphlet from the tekno-underground
Summary: 2 Stars

This is an extremely short tract that weaves indiscriminately amongst legitimate (albeit math-free) science, Gilligan's-Island style improvisation (that's a toilet float atop the coil pictured on the cover), and mythical pop pseudoscience ("unlimited free energy," etc.).

A good Google search will be far more informative, and free, too.

Book Review: Tesla Coil
Summary: 5 Stars

Excellent booklet for the beginning Tesla coil builder or experimenter. Very practical and easy to understand.
