Book Review: I did not get the book..
Summary: 4 Stars
..but was able to find out what the regimen is anyway. That's why four stars because it's not necessary to buy the book. Forget that ice crap. It's not necessary and keeps you from doing it. Or it would have me. A few months ago I started this regimen:
Morning:
Exfoliate with Salicylic Acid, 2.5%, 2-3 mins. I've used two cheap face washes (Clean and Clear and the Target brand that's like Neutrogena). Rinse and pat dry.
Exfoliate with 8% AHA (so far I've just used Paula's Choice gel but am looking for something to replace it) 2-3 mins. Rinse and pat dry.
Moisturize. I used a Paula's Choice Skin Recovery moisturizer until I ran out. Now I am using the Cetaphil for excema (I don't have excema but figured it was good for sensitive skin like mine).
Evening:
Repeat the Salicylic Acid treatment.
Moisturize as before.
Apply Neutrogena 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide. I used it only in the T-zone as that is my problem area or on any zits that pop up elsewhere. My skin is very sensitive. Anything stronger is too much (this was at first).
I have seen a dramatic difference. I am 48 years old and have never had skin this good. I was using Retin-A for a long time but it wasn't taking care of it, especially around my nose and chin, and makes my skin peel. Because it's good for fighting wrinkles, I'll probably try to re-incorporate it in my regimen every few days..but we'll see. I'm enjoying my smooth skin. The exfoliation keeps the pores from clogging and the BP keeps the bacteria count down. My skin was kind of rough for a little while then smoothed out. Any pimples I get now are not as big a deal.
So simple. So cheap. Oh, and I'm under tremendous stress since hubby lost his job over a year ago, yet I have great skin!
