Book Reviews of The Adobe Photoshop CS Book for Digital PhotographersBook Review: Simple steps to explain complex tasks Summary: 5 StarsThe book is written clearly, with plenty of screenshots showing each step of the transformation for each example. The examples range from quite simple colour replacement and straightening of pictures to potentially complex tasks such as changing a frown to a smile and actually altering physical features of a portrait. As an inexperienced user of the software I recommend this book highly for learning a large number of aspects relating to photo editing.
Book Review: Must have book! Summary: 5 StarsThis is by far the most helpful and user friendly book on Photoshop I've seen. It's far easier to use than Adobe Photoshop for Photographers (which is excellent - but reads more like a text book). If you're new to Photoshop this is the book to get. Even if you're fairly experienced I'm convinced you'll get more than your money's worth!
Book Review: Clearly written and essential reference Summary: 5 StarsI was fairly new to Photoshop CS, and yet found the step by step instructions on how to correct common issues, very easy to follow. The difference with this book is that you are given sample values for all of the actions that you perform - a wealth of experience that allows you to shortcut some of the trial and error. The book leans more towards portrait photography (in my view), and adjusting 'people' issues. Yellow teeth and eyes, and wrinkles may well be a thing of the past!! Don't be intimidated by the 'For Pro's Only' tags on some of the pages. They are still easy to follow tips, and well worth having a go at.
Book Review: So good I was actually bothered to send in a review!! Summary: 5 StarsIt takes a lot for me to motivate myself to give a review. Out of the MANY computer manuals I've bought on Amazon this is the best. Great techniques, the right amount of detail and contrary to other opinions, the jokes are funny!!I'm not a beginner with photoshop, in fact I'll be training people to use it soon, but I've learnt a LOT from this book. Trust me, it's that good!
Book Review: Essential reading. Summary: 5 StarsA friend recommended this book to me, I can't thank him enough. This book really is an essential buy for anyone who wants to know how to edit images. It doesn't bother to fill pages with such things as; this is a computer, this a digital camera etc. It just gets stuck in with meaningful steps and dialog. Screen shots accompany the steps which help you to find your way. It's written in very down to earth manner, with a bit of humour thrown in where needed.
