Book Reviews of The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 Book for Digital PhotographersBook Review: Fab book - so easy to pickup, get productive immediately. Summary: 5 StarsI prefer Scott's book to other super thick, long winded 'reference' guides. His books gets me going very quickly and i can learn/try different topics progressively at my leisure. Highly recommended.
Book Review: Good book for good software Summary: 5 StarsThe Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 Book for Digital Photographers (Voices That Matter)
I also purchased Scott's CS4 book after reading Amazon reviews. I have other similar books and do try to read them as-and-when nothing else is happening. I'm an amature photographer and would rather spend two hours on my PC than 15 minutes using a good guide book.
BUT I personally do like Scott's style. The graphics, page layout and worked examples do make for very pleasent, informative and useful reading.
Each ten minutes I spend in his books is rewarded with a new trick.
Book Review: A very readable guide Summary: 5 StarsIf you only have one book to guide you through Photoshop Lightroom 2 this has to be the one. I'm not saying that there are not other books which contain all of the information necessary for you to learn this super programme, what I am saying is that this book is not only a definitive guide, it's also a damn good read.
It will take you all the way from importing your images to exporting them to web or print without you being aware that your under instruction. The text is a joy to read and the book is so well laid out that the chore of learning becomes a pleasure.
Well worth the money - it does the job superbly.
Book Review: Kelby strikes again! Summary: 5 StarsScott Kelby frequently attracts adverse comment for the quirky humour he displays in his books. Some people hate it, others fall about laughing. I'm firmly in the latter camp, I have to say - however, humour is not what Kelby is about.
I have several of Kelby's photography books, and I find that they all share the same high standard of presentation, 24-carat content and polished delivery. Kelby manages to explain his topics with a clarity of expression often sadly missing from other books, and does so without over-technical or oversimplified language.
Score out of 10? 11. Buy it - NOW!
Book Review: Great stuff as usual from Kelby Summary: 5 StarsThey say you either love him or hate him... I'm in the former camp. Yes his style is a bit American and at times a bit corny, but you can't fault his knowledge and excellent delivery style. He knows his stuff and cafefully holds your hand through what are potentially complicated moves.
I would recommend all of Scott Kelby's books on Photoshop or Lightroom. After struggling to get to grips with both, I bought Kelby's books and all seemed to fall into place for me.
