Book Reviews of The Assault on Reason

Book Review: Brilliant and disturbing
Summary: 5 Stars

Gore;s measured march through what is happening in America is brilliant and quite devastating. It deals with the same phenomena as the Shock Doctrine, but in a broader way with more context. Must reading.

Book Review: Incendiary Device
Summary: 5 Stars

The popular victor of the 2000 election lets loose a devastating attack on the loser's administration, steeped in scientific and historical data. He's making a larger point about the failure of the nation's discourse, but when you get down to it it's a relentless assault on Bush, one that merited considerable more attention than it received with it's publication, possibly because that would have required major players of the MSM reading beyond the introduction. Too bad there wasn't an accompanying documentary film to get the point across further.

The CD is read by Will Patton, and he does a superior job. (Although, I wondered at one point, "What was Will Patton doing in Greece with Tipper?") Also, he seems to mis-read the state abbreviation for Alaska (AK) as Arkansas.

Book Review: an (logical) end to reason
Summary: 4 Stars

i was very sceptical about an "e" book, but this has certainly opened my eyes. loved the format and certainly agree with gores feelings and opinions towards the last 8 years of darkness. an end to reason gives examples and evidence that can be independently verified (to bush's dissappointment) and is quite an eye opener to the average american. i was reminded of incidents and issues that i had forgotten about and appreciate the references given to his statements. should be required in all public schools.

Book Review: god but a little outdated now
Summary: 3 Stars

Some of Gore's points are dated for the outrage of those living inside the Bush years (it is enough to nauseate even now), but there are still some good points; I liked, for instance, his paper-rock-scissors triad of reason-faith-fear.
