Book Review: "A lazy reader" Highly recomended! A must buy!

This book is great one that I had always wanted to read. Yes, it is true that it is a High School age read. The prose flows very fluidly. I had to read it for Community College American History Class. I was shocked that the intructor assigned this. Eventhough I didn't do so well in the class out of pure indolence I found the book enlightening and justifyably enjoyable. Not to mention, highly moving! While reading about Malcolm's change that he undergoes in prison I was struck, intrigued and amazed by his plight. It also influnced my own thinking slightly. It is the kind of book that makes a person reconsider ones own actions. This is especially vital to teenage african american males. Malcolm says that African Americans are spiritually starving. This book actually feeds that starvation.
If you are Black and thinking about reading this book, it is well worth your money. You won't be dissappointed. If you are parent of an African American teenager they will not dislike you if they actually read this book.
When I first picked the book up I thought that it would be just like the movie. Nonetheless, I was sorely mistaken and taken aback by Malcolm's thought and Alex Haley puting it into writing. I did not know that he was much more articulate than Spike Lee portrays. Malcolm an influential man briliant enough to speak street slang and understand college level prose. Malcolm's insights into pop-culture still ring true today among some people. I, like Malcolm, was a fool and a clown now I am different. This book I could not put down! This book is very evocative!
My Father origonaly told me about this book and in fact, I wish I would have read this earlier in my life.
