Book Reviews of The BFGBook Review: Delightful! CAUTION: not for the little ones (too scary) Summary: 5 Stars
Hard to believe I missed this delightful book as a child. I adored Dahl, and read much of him, but I'd never heard of this until my wife brought it home one day. You and/or your child will also enjoy this funny and touching adventure about a kindly giant.
However, I would caution you that the book is about people-eating giants who snatch children from their beds in the night. They are beastly things who eat little children and have horrifying names. It's scary stuff! Perhaps not best to read aloud to little ones!
Book Review: Emma's Review Summary: 5 Stars
Being an orphan isn't easy, but being Sophie must have been harder. Imagine a giant hand coming through your bedroom window and snatching you out of bed! Well, one night during the Witching Hour, Sophie, a little orphan, couldn't get to sleep. Then she heard something. Little Sophie crept out of bed and up to the windowsill. All of a sudden, a giant hand shot through the window like an arrow and picked Sophie up. Then this giant "Thing" galloped off to some place, also known as Giant Country. When she got there, Sophie learned about nine blood thirsty giants, who went to gobble up people each night. Sophie decided she had to stop them. She cooked up a plan to save the world with the BFG. Will Sophie's plan work or will the world have no one left? The BFG is like a giant dad. He is very caring and loves kids. Sophie is very brave, intelligent, and has a knack for adventure. Together, these two make a great team to save England and the rest of the world. I highly recommend this book to all Roald Dahl fans.
Book Review: Enchanting Story for All Ages Summary: 4 Stars
Young Sophie was simply up at the wrong time during the night, when she is captured by a giant known as The BFG. However, luckily for Sophie, The BFG is not an ordinary bone-crushing giant, or a giant who eats small children. No, not at all. The BFG, also known as The Big Friendly Giant, is actually a kind giant. One who loves her company. You see, had Sophie been unfortunate enough to be captured in the night by the Bonecruncher, or the Fleshlumpeater, she would have become an early breakfast, but that is not the case here. But when Sophie hears that the entire colony of giants are heading off to England to steal a whole bunch of little children, for a human feast, Sophie knows that it is up to her to save them all before it's too late, and The BFG will be right there to help her along the way.
As an avid fan of Roald Dahl's MATILDA, I just knew that the plot described on the back cover of THE BFG would be absolutely wonderful. I am happy to report that it was. The BFG is a fun character, who is jolly, and kind, and will win the hearts of young readers, for he proves that not all giants are mean. In fact, some are wonderful as friends! Sophie, on the other hand, is intelligent, and adventurous, while at the same time inquisitive and brave. The adventures that she shares with The BFG are exciting, and will set the imaginations of readers alight. A must have for all looking for an exciting tale of adventure.

Book Review: Engaging to read & good messages to kids Summary: 5 Stars
Always entertaining, with Roald Dahl's enticing way of presenting a story in such a way as to suggest that it could happen to any of us (well, any *kid*, anyway). The best part in my opinion is the moral of the story: that people who do the right thing get what they want in the end, and people who don't do the right thing get what they deserve.
Book Review: Excellent book! Summary: 5 Stars
I really liked this book a lot. It was both funny and interesting at the same time. Especially the BFG. It had really interesting things at the end of each chapter. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put the book down. I recommend this scruddylupmtious book to everyone!
