Book Reviews of The BFGBook Review: A Trip to Giant Country Summary: 4 Stars
If you like Frobscottle, Snozzcumbers, Wizzpoppers, Blood Bottlers, Boncrunchers and Manhuggers, then this is the book for you. It has all of the above, and more. Sophie gets snatched, almost eaten and has a great plan to end all misery in the world. What more could you and everyone else ask for? (Other than a sequel). What else could happen? LOTS....... It was the witching hour in London and Sophie sat at the window looking outside. Then she saw a tall man carrying a briefcase and something that looked like a long trumpet. The man was as least as tall as a three-storey building. Then the man reached his hand into her dormitory and snatched her from the window. "THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!" Soon the thumping stopped, and Sophie knew that they had reached the tall man's destination. It was called Giant Country. They arrive at the BFG's house (a cave), and when Sophie gets plopped down on a twelve-foot tall table she thinks that she is about to get eaten. But to her mistake, she was only taken to Giant Country because no one was allowed to see a giant. In Giant Country, there were lots of mean giants: Blood Bottler, Boncruncher, Manhugger, Fleshlumpeater, Childchewer, Meatdripper, Gizzardgulper, Maidmasher, and Butcherboy. And then there was also the one and only nice giant: the Big Friendly Giant (the BFG). The BFG was a very friendly giant, and unlike the other giants that go galloping to far away countries to gobble up human beans the BFG goes galloping to England every night to blow dreams into people's heads-and he eats snozzcumbers and drinks Frobscottle. Before I say anything else, I must release my true feelings about this book. I LOVED it and I think there should be more books in the world like it. Well, I don't think you'll like it if you don't like fantasy, because it has a lot of fantasy. For instance there are no such things as giants or dreams being blown into your head. I would suggest this book for all ages, if you like fantasy. I think the most exciting part in the book would have to be the part about the plan, but I'm not about to give away the ending. If you are interested, I'm sorry but you'll just have to read it!
Book Review: A WONDERFUL STORY Summary: 5 Stars
The BFG, by Roald Dahl, is an interesting story about a girl named Sophie who gets picked up out of the orphanage by some giant who she thinks is going to eat her, but he doesn't, all because she saw him walking about. The BFG stands for BIG FRIENDLY GIANT. He makes up some words likie whizzpopping and frobcottle. There are nine other giants lurking countrys every night gobbling up little chddlers he calls them. He also catches dreams and mixes them up to make very bad dreams called trogglehumpers. He mixes up a trogglehumper for the Queen of England to believe there are giants and she will because she will dream Sophie is sitting outside her windowsill and she will be there. The queen and troops go and get the giants when they are asleep with helicopters. They bring them to a hole and keep them in there. The BFG gets a home with the Queen. Right utside her door.
Book Review: A Wonderful World Summary: 5 Stars
This book was one of Roald Dahl's best books ever.It is about a little girl named Sophie that saw a giant and was taken from her orphanege. The person that took her said he is the Big Frendly Giant. This story would probaly be for 2nd grade and up. I liked this book because the BFG talks funny. I also like this book because Roald Dahl explains what his storys are about.

Book Review: A book that turns out to be about the importance of dreams Summary: 5 Stars
When I first saw the title of this book I got pretty excited. I have a friend with whom I often exchange cryptic lines of acronyms just to play with each other's minds (IHHIWBTFOTMOSLT). So when I saw "The BFG" I immediately started to speculated what the initials stood for: Bacon Fried Grease, Bunny's Favorite Goat, Blue Flavored Galoshes, and on and on. Well, it turns out BFG stands for Big Friendly Giant, which turns out to be somewhat ironic, because the BFG is actually the runt of all the giants we meeting in the telling of this story. I learned a lot of very interesting things from this story, which is about an orphan girl named Sophie who is kidsnatched by the BFG and taken to the land of the giants. I learned that all of the giants, except the BFG, eat human beans, and than human beans from different places taste differently. I learned that giants only treat human beans the way human beans treat piggy-wigs. (I also learned a whole lot of new words I never knew before reading this book.) I learned that if you spend half your time sleeping, then you are really only half as old as you think you are. And I also learned where dreams come from, how important they can be, and that "Oliver Twist" was written by some talented cluckers called Dahl's Chickens. Sophie is quite upset to hear that all the other giants are flushbunking off to England to swollomp a whole bunch of little chiddlers, she convinces the BFG to help her find a way to stop them. At this point a very important, very real person is enlisted to aid in the battle to save England from the giants. This was a very nice development because this person has been a character in another book that I really liked and it was really nice to see her again. Plus she was very helpful to Sophie and the BFG. In the end England is made safe once more and everybody lives most happily ever after. I think you will enjoy this book and that you would enjoy pretty much any book written by Roald Dahl. I also think that when you have finished this book, you might let your children read it as well.
