Book Reviews of The BFGBook Review: Allie's Review Summary: 4 Stars
Imagine you were a young orphan tossing and turning because you can't sleep. Then all of the sudden a big, giant hand comes in through your window and lifts you out of your bed! The next thing you know you are bouncing around in a wool pocket. The BFG was a great book. The orphan, Sophie, was actually in the BFG's (Big Friendly Giant) pocket. He took her off the map of London to his giant land. There grazing on a huge feild, was nine gross looking giants. I can compare my dad and I to the BFG and Sophie. One time when I was standing near the pool, I accidently stepped backward and almost fell in. The reason I didn't was because my dad caught me. It reminds me of when the BFG helps Sophie when she is in need and Sophie helps the BFG when he is in need. The book was about how Sophie and the BFG try to save the children of the world from getting eaten up by those nine disgusting giants. Can they help the world? Find out if they can and how they do it by reading the book the BFG.
Book Review: An awesome book! Summary: 5 Stars
I would die in an orphanage, but imagine how a 9-year-old orphan named Sophie feels if she can't get up in the night to go to the potty. I'd say she'd feel pretty crummy, until... one night she saw a dark shadow during the witching hour (midnight) walking around England with a horn and a brief case. Sophie had no idea what it was until she was snatched out of her bed and rushed to a land of purple and gray rocks to find herself in a giant's cave. Sophie assumed she was going to be eaten by the giant until he explained that he was the BFG, which stood for the Big Friendly Giant. The BFG warned Sophie about the other mean chiddler(kid)-eating giants and how they went off during the nights to different places for their juicy kid dinners. Sophie was mad when she heard this, so she came up with a plan to stop them. She thought that the only person who could stop them and who had enough power was the Queen of England. Sophie's plan was for she and the BFG to convince the Queen that Fleshlumper, the Banecrunder, the Manhugger, the Bloodbottler, the Butcher Boy, the Childchewer, the Meatdripper, the Gizzardgulper and the Maidmasher were giants eating up little kids from all around the world. She also wanted the Queen to meet the one nice giant who wanted to help her. But will their plan work? Read the book and find out... If you read this book I'm sure you will like it. It has lots of funny words like gizzardgulper or phizzwizard, and exciting, mysterious and somewhat scary parts that you're sure to like. In this book the author Roald Dahl brings out the funny childish words because he knows it will be catching kids' and parents' eyes. If you don't read this book you will be missing out on a lot of fun and silly but educated paragraphs. The BFG is a great book and everybody will like it so read it and enjoy it.
Book Review: An Enchanting Novel Summary: 4 Stars
The BFG is a well written book about an orphan named Sophie whom at the witching hour is taken out of her room by a giant to his cave. It's writing is very descriptive and creative because since the BFG(Big Friendly Giant)couldn't speak English very well he would pronounce the words like instead of saying human beings, he would say human beans. To my opinion this book FANTASTIC!
Book Review: An Interesting Story Summary: 5 Stars
The BFG is a really fascinating story about a girl and a giant. The action starts when Sophie, an orphan, sees the Big Friendly Giant, who "kidsnatches" her and takes her to his mysterious cave. The BFG says she must live with him forever. That is how their adventure together begins.
I think The BFG is the most interesting story in the world. It describes the characters very well and makes me laugh a lot. I didn't want to stop reading.
I love all of Roald Dahl's writing, but The BFG is my favorite book. It even inspired me to write my own version!
Book Review: An awesome book! Summary: 4 Stars
Imagine that you are in an ordinary orphanage on a ordinary night, and all of a sudden a big mysterious black figure walks down the street and grabs you right out of your bed.Sophie is the ordinary girl that is grabbed out of her orphanage bed and taken away toa weird and mystical land of Giants. The mysterious figure turns out to be the BFG (Big Friendly Giant). The BFG speaks the strangest language, with words such as: gogglers meaning eyes, ucky slush meaning gross, babblement meaning conversation, frisby meaning cold and wizzpopers meaning passing gas.The BFG is not like the other giants, he is much too nice and jumbly. The other giants (Fleshlumpeater, Bonecruncher, Manhugger, Childchuer, Meatdripper, Bloodbottler and the Butcher Boy) are very evil. Every night they run off to different countries to eat humans. Sophie hates them especially for that. Sophie becomes friends with the BFG, and explores the Giants world. The BFG has many secrets. One is that he gives children good dreams or bad dreams. Sophie has many close encounters with the Giants -- like the time the Bloodbottler ate her hiding spot! Sophie thinks the cannybully giants are terrible, so she tries to think of a plan to stop them once and for all. Her plan is that she will get the BFG to mix a dream that will describe to the queen of England what is going on. Will be queen believe them? Read and find out I think it the BFG is a funny and joyful book. I think the best part is the Giants language. My favorite character is of course the BFG. He's so jolly and he always looks on the bright side of life.
