Book Reviews of The Birth Partner: Everything You Need to Know to Help a Woman Through Childbirth, Second EditionBook Review: DON'T GIVE BIRTH WITHOUT READING THIS BOOK! Summary: 5 StarsThis is an invaluable text on the childbirth process. It gives a woman information on all of her options from the home birth to the most medicalized hospital birth including C sections. Knowing your options gives you comfort and power to make informed decisions that are the best for you and your child.
Book Review: Book has every detail you need to know about birth. Summary: 5 StarsThis is THE BOOK to have to learn about birth, its prep and post recovery. The book was written for birthing partner, but it's a great learning book for the mom. My husband refused to read it.
Every little question I had about what to expect of birth was in this book. What to do to prepare for birth, how to recognize onset of labor, and what happens to your body and baby during the birth process which is a great thing to know. It also has a chapter on difficult labor, which is great to prepare yourself for the worst.
Book has a lot of "...in a nutshell" pages, which are great reference pages.
Book Review: The only book my husband read & loved Summary: 5 StarsI highly reccomend this book! I bought every book on pregnancy I could find & this was given to my husband & this is the book we had open when I was in labor! The tables in this book surpase any of the books I bought. They were easy to find, clear, concise & informative. None of the books I bought for the birthing mother were as easy to find information in-especially during birth itself. This is the book we sat up reading together in bed & discussing what was to come. When I went into labor I grabbed my favorite birth book (The Birth Book by the Sears) & was thumbing through it for info on what was happening & what was next. But my husband grabbed his copy of The Birth Partner & found all the info we were looking for faster than I did. I still reccomend the Birth Book by the Sears for expecting moms but The Birth Partner is essential for both expecting moms & dads.
Book Review: Bien, mais... Summary: 3 StarsAn easy book to help understand the biological mechanics of the birth process, but doesn't talk about the emotions and the psychological side of the experience, which are SO important!
Book Review: The most helpful childbirth prep book Summary: 5 StarsAfter reading dozens of books on preparing for labor and delivery, I found this one to be the most comprehensive and helpful for preparing for my first child. Although this is written for birth attendants instead of expectant mothers, I found unbiased information about all aspects of childbirth- potential problems with many possible solutions, procedures and risks. It gave me the information I needed to choose what kind of birth experience I desired for my child and made me aware of options that I was not aware of. Highly recommended reading for both future mom and her coach/birth attendant.
