Book Review: A Fresh and Creative Addition to Literature
Summary: 4 Stars

This collection of stories is interesting to say the least. They are a far cry from the stories that have been jammed down our throats since we were six years. The originality, wackiness, and creativity that fill this collection are worth taking a good look at. Whether you a reading a freakish story concerning male sex organs, or Fracalossy's collection of super short stories, you can't help but allow your mind to access its freakiest and darkest inner workings. The portrayals in these stories are odd in the sense that they haven't really been discovered yet. One would think that if the creation of the cult movie were successful, the same would be for books. Unfortunately this hasn't proved true yet, but I see this as its initiation. Like Kerouac, who introduced and founded the beat movement, these writers, in their good work, have served as the beginning to something that has infinite potential. Just like Tim Burton's movies go great lengths to perpetuate his style; these ten authors do the same with their stories.
This intensely different genre of writing is not for the conservative reader. This outlandish style allows for a form of expression that hasn't been seen in literature for quite some time, and reading it is a somewhat liberating experience. I would recommend this collection to my friends with a sort of disclaimer. I would tell them to forget all literature they had previously read and to read this through with as open a mind as humanly possible. There's no telling where Nin and Nan will make your mind wander!

Book Review: Intresting.. in a good way!
Summary: 4 Stars

When i first started reading the stories in this book, it caught me a little off gaurd, but i ended up reading the whole book because the stories were out of the ordinary and difft, and you always wanted to know what was going to happen next. The short story, The Intruder, threw me off, the way the intruder is described was really creepy, but you want to know who this person is, and what hes going to do. In the short story The Birthda Party you are thiat first that it is Steves birthday and then when the pony comes to the door, you are wondering why the other character closes the door on it and it was really twisted when she says there is a repo man outside ahen a little women jumps out of the cake and in the end it isnt even Steves birthday. The story i liked the most though was The Devestated Insides of Hollow City. I really hard a hard time following who Pearl was, and it was a little bit gross how there was a plague and these slags were everywhere. The people in this story acted ry crazy and strange. The thing about this story was that everyone want to find Pearl, you never knew what she looked like or why she was so powerful and special and how old she really was. You get caught up in the story wondering where she is, and when she is found everything comes together and you finally understand who she is and why she is so special. The Bizzaro Starter Kit, keeps you reading and keeps you guessing in every story. I enjoyed it very much.

Book Review: Crazy!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

The genre of bizzaro fiction is like nothing that I have ever read. The stories are very intriguing and hold the readers attention. Once I started reading I couldn't stop. I was very curious to see where this book was going. "The Bizzaro Starter Kit (blue)" is filled with many wacky, odd, and funny tales.
One of my favorite sections of the book is "The Birthday Party" by Ray Fracalossy. This very odd story is only one paragraph long. The tale seems like ten story lines jammed into one itty bitty piece. The way it is told sounds like bits and pieces of a very weird dream. Once I was done I felt more confused than satisfied. When I finished I was still trying to figure out what was going on. This story is so all over the place. It has so many random things that should not go together. Such as a pony, the repo man, a seven inch woman, and of course to top it off a happy ride into the sunset. With things like this in story it is hard to put the book down
Another fantastic part of this insane kooky book is the Tony Rauch story "The Stench." In this incredibly strange story involves a man coming home from work to a horrible smell in his living room. This smell turns out to be coming from a big hairy "Star Wars" like creature. Somehow this thing leads the owners of this house to come closer and decide to have children. This book is most definitely not for the conservative reader. If one decides to purchase this awesome piece of literature I highly suggest that they go into it with as open of a mind as possible.

Book Review: Great collection!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a really cool collection, and I am very proud to be a part of it. The three presses involved, Eraserhead, Afterbirth, and Raw Dog Screaming, have been publishing some of the most vital and interesting work in the English language for several years now. Many people took notice after the last Starter Kit was issued a couple of years back. Hopefully many more will notice now! This movement is creating a groundswell the kind of which literature hasn't seen since the beats! Come read the new Kerouacs and Ginsbergs--this is the defining work of our generation!

Book Review: probably one if the best introductions to bizarro you can get
Summary: 5 Stars

(Ash Lomen)

This is probably one if the best introductions to bizarro you can get. With authors like Jordan Krall, Bradley Sands, and Jeremy C. Shipp... this is a great gateway high into the surreal world of altered states that is bizarro literature. As Lou Reed once said "Take a walk on the wild side."
