This is a great reference for first time mothers. I knew nothing about breastfeeding when I got preganant, now I recommend this book to every pregnant woman that I see. It really does have everything you need to know. It even has websites and phone numbers to manufacturers and distributers of products especially for breastfeeding mothers. With the help of this book I successfully breastfed both my child through the entire first year of their lives while holding down a full time job outside of our home. This book is wonderful, I highly recommend it to any mother who wants to give their baby the best gift of all. Martha Sears And William Sears are great and I have almost all of their books. I really like their ideas of nighttime feedings, cosleeping and babywearing. Obviously do not sleep with your baby if you use drugs or are grossly overweight thats common sense. If you respond to baby quickly at night you can feed him and go quickly back to sleep without waking anyone else up. How cruel to make baby scream for food in his crib or from another room. This is just not for the breastfed baby. Reading this book will give you better insight on how to follow baby's cues. Just an awesome book overall. This really is a fabulous book. You really have to take the cosleeping talk and the things you don't necessarily agree on with a grain of salt. Read around those views if you don't believe in them, because the rest of the book is fabulous. Take to heart the instruction and the positive feedback this book provides. I could have NEVER lived without it, and it is already being borrowed for the 5th time! Everyone who has used it, loves it!
