Book Review: Homemade made easy

Who has time anymore to bake from scratch? I don't, but I still like making a nice cake for special occasions or to bring to a bbq or party. I can waste hours online looking at recipes on the packaged cake sites. This book is a better use of time. Tons of great ideas to make some really special cakes (or just a new twist on an old favorite) without spending hours in the kitchen.
Start with a cake mix, add a few things you probably have at home already, and you're good to go. This book would also be great for anyone who isn't a great baker but doesn't want to be limited to what they can find in the grocery store.

I do not love to bake and am often asked to bring a dessert to club meetings, so I ordered this book. What could be better than shortcuts to yummy and out-of-the-ordinary dessert? Well, we were disappointed in the first cake I made. But to be fair, I WILL try others. The one I tried was Orange Almond Angel Food Cake and it was cloyingly sweet and no family member liked it--even ones with a "sweet tooth".Book Review: The Cake Doctor is just great
