Book Review: A Must Have!!!
Summary: 5 Stars
This is without a doubt my favourite cartoon of all time and if you love Calvin and Hobbes then you really should get this edition. It contains all the published cartoons of the wonderful heartwarming duo! The presentation is superb and the cartoons are printed on high quality heavyweight paper, as a previous review mentions they are presented in chronological order and the reproduction is superb, the colour ones practically jump out from the page. The first book also contains an insightful introduction by Bill Watterson.But down to our heros, Calvin is a loveable yet mischievous little scamp while Hobbes his buddy, is kinda worldly wise yet he can be as crazy as Calvin when the mood takes him. The adventures they have are sooooo funny, some have a little pathos (the baby racoon story), and some make you feel fuzzy ...(like a particular tiger??). The final cartoon always gets me, although it makes me kinda sad and I want to just follow them on the next sledge to see where it takes them, it also makes me feel pretty privileged to have been able to join them on their riotous adventures up to that point.
If you are new to C & H then maybe try a taster of one of their books and then buy this...because I know you'll be hooked!! Alternatively jump right in...the Amazon price is great so what have you got to lose??
