Book Reviews of The Complete Conversations with God

Book Review: A "god" who says we can do WHATEVER we want? THIS is NOT from God!
Summary: 1 Stars

I have to say that I was more than disappointed when I read the book. The bible is about the teachings of Jesus Christ, talking about good and evil, loving and forgiving one another, serving and taking care of others rather than just one self, being the best person you can possibly be by not cursing, murdering, raping, being dishonest, etc etc. The bible talks about spending time in prayer with God, to become closer to Him, and know Him personally. The God of the bible is profound. Jesus died for us on the cross because He loved us so much. He preached about kindness and peace to all, treating others with love and respect, and encouraged us to be good, and become better by fighting temptation.

Neale's writings are automatic writings and automatic writing is not from God. The definition of "automatic writing" is as follows:

*A practice where a person, in a state of trance, writes down messages from the spirit realm. The messages are often signed by a spiritual entity or a fallen angel that has been delivering the messages. -this definition is from Wikipedia

His "god" talks about living any way you want, be however evil you want to be, and it is acceptable to "god". There is no need for forgiveness, because there is no right or wrong and therefore, nothing to forgive. That translated into there being no need for the law, jail, etc. if there is no evil or wrong doing and everything is ok with God, then everything should be ok with man, right? Wrong!

The book also states that it doesn't matter how we treat others because it is ok, as long as we are serving and living out our own desires. There is no devil, according to this book. We can do whatever we want without judgment or punishment!

Automatic writing, throughout the ages, has always catered to the social practices of the day, and those things with which people struggled that may be right or wrong. Do you HONESTLY believe that God would say that it is ok to continue to murder, rape, torture, molest children, etc? That you shouldn't even TRY to change your ways? I am not taking the book out of context in any way! This is what it says...we can continue to do WHATEVER we want, including things that we deem as evil, because they are actually not really evil. We will all go to heaven, no matter what. There is nothing for which we should be sorry. So let's all just do whatever it is that we want to do. Imagine living in that kind of world! No laws, no jails and people doing whatever they wanted to each other? If we all did what Neale says we should do, and do WHATEVER we wanted, WHENEVER we wanted, would you want to live in that world????? I wouldn't think so, considering you would probably repeatedly be raped and tortured and then murdered by whomever wanted to do that to you, and there would be no need for jail, because it would be ok. "god" said it is. This is just the most hokey piece of crap and sadly, many people have been mislead by it.

My God is loving, kind, peaceful, and helps teach me to be a better person, love others, forgive others, help to guide others by teaching them His GOOD word, and He also tells me when I am wrong, so that I can be a better person and treat others more fairly.

I am certain that Neale Walsch truly believes he was divinely inspired...he was spiritually inspired, but it was not by God. The spirits of darkness are all around and are very subtle, weaving truth with lies, so as to try to create something that seems to be believable. How can anyone believe this stuff?? One way to distinguish truth from lies is that lies often tell us ONLY what we would want to hear. That's what makes it so appealing to people. The truth, on the other hand, will let us know that we are fallible, and sinful, we do not always do things right and that we hurt and judge others. And the truth not only sets us on the right path, but also, gives us ways to make ourselves better, and to find true happiness through love, peace, forgiveness, and joy. Just as we parent our children, teach them right from wrong, healthy habits from unhealthy habits, etc and guide them in the right direction, so too, does God do the same for us. He tells us right from wrong, says what He expects and hopes from us (to be good and love others and Himself), and he lets us know what we need to change and work on in ourselves, and He is an example to us, just the way that parents are supposed to be with their children.

We were created to be good to one another, to love one another, to fight temptation and sin, to do good deeds, to love and serve God. Let me tell you, the devil is very real! Sin is very real! And it is not from God. God is judgment...He has to be...He is divinely and infinitely good and full of love...He can see that the opposite of love and goodness is hate and sinfulness, and there must be a means to help correct His people, otherwise, we could not live the life of love, faith, peace, friendship, etc. that He has called us to live.

We are His children and He loves us. We are His creation and He loves us all, saints and sinners! But He discourages sin, because it keeps us farther from Him...from His plan for us. And guess what? He does not want us to be miserable, but full of love, peace, forgiveness, joy and all things good! Please do not give this book a chance to subtly manipulate you. This is what it can do. Manipulate you to believe that you can live a life full of sin, and it's ok with God. If you feel what you are doing is wrong, then it most likely is.

God bless you all and I hope you all find out the truth!
