This is the abridged version of the Dumas classic.
Having not read the original yet, I can only compare it
to The Three Musketeers. Dumas' writing style loses
energy in the abridging process. The reader ought to
be aware that the story has been simplified and summarized.
If you want the true flavor of Dumas, order the unabridged
version.
