Book Review: Very informative and enlightening
Summary: 4 Stars
Linda Maybarduk's biography of Rudolf was a good book mainly because it was about my beloved Rudi. In fact, although it was well written, it did not quench my thirst for knowledge about the great dancer, who, in my modest opinion, was the most spectacular male dancer of the twentieth century. If only I had seen him perform! It is a rather formal biography that does not go into any particular depth of the dancer's life. However, I assume that, as the author was a good friend of Nureyev, she followed his wishes as to how the book should be written. I would have prefered the book to be longer and more detailed, and to yield more information of Rudi's life, both personal and professional. Having said this, I still reccommend this work to anyone who is, like me, desperate for any reading matter that lets us delve into Nureyev's fascinating and tragic life. Well worth a read! The blurb states that the book is meant for younger readers, like me, but I strongly suggest that adults read it too.
