We must wake up to what has happened to us as a species. This book speaks volumes and I encourage each and everyone of you to join Debbie at her workshops to heal, to live from the Whole of Who You Really Are. Share this book with friends and loved ones and, above all, live it!
Book Review: A book of insight.... Summary: 5 Stars
I'm still taking my time to read this book through... and can tell you that you'll want to read it over again. There's so much to learn about ourselves (IF you are ready to face your TRUE self!) from the exercises in this book! It's a great read! ... but you must take your time and do ALL that is offers....
Book Review: A good book.. Summary: 4 Stars
The Dark Side of the Light Chasers is a good book for people who are dedicated and committed to finding their true selves and sacrificing the person they always thought they were (a pretty hard thing to do). It's based on the theories of Carl G. Jung, a swiss psychologist who first thought up the "shadow" and how it might be good to embrace it instead of run away from it. A big part of the book is being willing to sacrifice the person you think you are for the person you can become and that involves giving up your excuses and questioning your beliefs. But the main theme of the book, as the title suggests, is embracing your dark side and finding a gift in all those "horrible" qualities- the things that you most fear and hate about yourself- and not just being boring or dull either; DebbieFord has you go through accepting everything(insane, depressed, empty, evil, masochistic, and insensitive to name a few). This book is very inspiring for me but it will only be effective if you are willing to open up, see the truth, and do the work.
Book Review: A life altering experience, to read this book! Summary: 5 Stars
Although I have heard, from probably a dozen differnet sources, "we are all mirrors of each other" and "what we dislike in another is what we have to work on in ourselves", this book was a giant AHA! and I knew that I had finally "gotten it"! Debbie Ford doesn't have to rely on psychology "jargon" - her clear and simple, unvarnished examples and directions are perfect tools to get you where you want to be in your life. If you take her words to heart, I guarantee your view of yourself will change, and you'll never look at your fellow humans in quite the same way, either. Empowerment!
Book Review: A truly wonderful journey! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a truly wonderful book! Filled with a lot of feeling and perception yet written with atrocious honesty and gets right to the peak. It helps explain how we can deal with our ` Shadows " (your dark side, amend ego, your dark twin, or your introverted self) This book will help you change your own awareness of the entire universe, others and yourself. That is what this book is all about, letting you see this universe, and helping you to hold all parts of yourself and start to be whole. When you are whole, you have no inner conflict. The steps outlined really need to be followed in order to appreciate what you can truly accomplish. This wonderful, well-developed works that incorporates concepts of others, but yet applies them in a sensitive, caring way. Full of emotions, affection, feelings and love.
