The second book by Kerouac i bought and subsequently read and much better than the first (On the Road). It seems with every book by Kerouac I read, I get a deeper understanding of his style and life and begin to ultimately enjoy it more. This book seems to be the best "sequel" to On the Road and and after this book, Desolation Angels is a good follow-up. This is one of my favorite books and would reccomend it to anyone getting into Kerouac. The only reason it did not recieve five stars is that I feel there are better books out there by Kerouac.Book Review: Dharma FreeLoaders

Kerouac really out did himself on this one! I finished "On the Road" wondering why anyone would write another book after this. I picked up "Dharma Bums" and realized that this guy could tell a story about anything, and make it the most interesting thing on the block! His 'everyday-speak' use of written language makes you feel the beads of sweat dripping from your own pores as he hikes; makes you feel peaceful and tranquil as he meditates... That, Ladies and Gentlemen, is TALENT!Book Review: Dont waste your time

Uninteresting and boring, the story accomplishes nothing from start to finish. Save your time and money and dont bother with this book.
