For quilters who want to make a realistic, animal picture quilt, this is an incredible book! As a beginning quilter who had never appliqued before, I found this book to be well written and extremely helpful. Sharon Malec gives you 6 applique patterns for dog and cat quilt blocks and teaches you how to design your own. Her technique is simple: all you need is freezer paper, scissors, and an acid-free glue stick. You trace the pattern onto freezer paper, then iron the freezer paper to your fabric scraps. Cut out the pieces, turn the edges under using a glue stick, and assemble the blocks. The quilt blocks come together quickly, so you can make a quilt you will always treasure. Her instructions tell you how you can design quilt blocks of your special pet.
