Book Reviews of The Double Agents (Men at War)Book Review: w.e.b. griffen has lost his touch Summary: 1 Stars
i have read and enjoyed all his works for years. they were well written, knowledgeable, engrossing stories that kept the readers interest through out.
Sorry to say its no longer the case with The Double Agents. The story seemed to read as a flushed out outline, jumping all over, including even more ridiculous charactors inserted with out conviction- David Niven? Ian Fleming? Peter Ustinov? Come on. The key story line was never concentrated on to provide what should have been a marvelous tale. I was very disappointed and won't bother to read the next book in this series. In fact, I won't even pass my copy along to other readers- not worth the shelf space. Is W.E.B Griffin writing this? Has his editor changed? I don't know but the stlye is no longer his, and the result is very disapointing. In fact if i could give a rating of 'no' star i would have. Its time to move on to another fresh author in this genre, I fear.
