Book Reviews of The Double Agents (Men at War)

Book Review: Continuation
Summary: 4 Stars

Strong characters, exotic locations, realistic plot and good story-telling make this a good addition to the series. It's one of those books you wish were about a thousand pages long so you could savor it longer.

Book Review: Disappointed
Summary: 2 Stars

After reading just about every book Griffin has written, many of them several times over the years, "The Double Agents" was very disappointing.

Devoting about a quarter of the book t writing letters to accompany a dead body seems to be a bit of overkill, and probably an over exaggeration of the roles of Niven,Ustinov and Fleming for the stories being told,

I would have liked to see more of the role played by the "hero" of the book(Canidy) an also some )probably brief) information about the fate of the radio operator.

Along the same lines, the Corps series, which I consider my all time favorite books, needs a final chapter.

Book Review: Disappointment
Summary: 2 Stars

This book was a huge disappointment. It spent almost the first 100+ pages introducing the new reader to the series. It also spent a great deal of time on the Niven/Fleming project which was tangential to the overall plot. The time line covered March 26 to May 14, 1943 at this rate they will 12 more books to get to the end of the war. Where was Eric Fulmar in this book??? Having been a loyal fan reading several of the series I am not sure whether I will continue with this one as it appears to have been written just to push something out there!!!!!

Book Review: Disappointment ghost writer
Summary: 1 Stars

I have read all of W.E.B. Griffin's books to date and this is the first that I have been disappointed in. I'm always leary when a favorite author starts co-writing books and this is no exception. It seems clear to me that Mr. Butterworth wrote this book mostly on his own and added his Father's (W.E.B. Griffin) to the cover. He tries to use the "patented" Griffin style but fails miserably. It becomes so predictable when he will use the phrase "Johnny gun" and other lines that I almost couldn't finish the book. A poor imitation of his Father. If his Griffin wants to turn over the writing of this (and some of his other series) to his son then please have the decency to remove his name from the cover so I won't feel swindeled when I read it.

Book Review: Don't waste your time
Summary: 1 Stars

Have read all of W.E.B Griffins books and was very disappointed. Mediocre at best!
