Book Review: Another great piano book from the Dolls

As usual, the Dolls have broken another tradition of releasing a badly-transcribed piano/guitar/vocals book with the album. Instead, they have released this.
The book contains piano/vocal sheet music to both "Yes, Virginia" AND "No, Virginia", which is awesome. The piano transcription is, as ever, PERFECT, with no hint of simplification. It also contains guitar charts and little notes for guitarists, such as "play the piano RH part if possible".
An excellent feature of this book, also seen in "The Dresden Dolls Companion", is that Amanda writes a few words about each song, explaining what the lyrics are about, the circumstances in which the song was written, and some advice for the piano player. A new feature is Brian's little section on each song's drum part and what he thinks of the song.
As in the previous book, Amanda writes a great deal about the making of both albums, with many photos. A personal touch in this book is the inclusion of a few short journal entries of Amanda's, where she writes about how stressful the recording process is and similar things.
There are HUNDREDS of photographs throughout the book, of the recording process, some fantastic live shots, some studio shots, self-portraits, drawings, and pictures of the Dolls just hanging out.
Finally, along with Amanda's written discussion of each song, there are lots of pieces of artwork that fans submitted, each specifically related to a song on "Yes, Virginia". There is also some art from Barnaby Whitfield, which is as terrifying and fantastic as ever.
The only disappointing aspect is that this book perhaps has TOO many pictures (the photos take up over half the book), which makes the book very big and bulky, and difficult to sit on a music stand. There's also no mention of Amanda's writing process as there was in "The Dresden Dolls Companion", but she does explain at the beginning that she felt it was something that was adequately covered in the previous book.
Another gem from the Dresden Dolls, an essential buy for fans.
